SCENAR is an acronym for Self Controlled Electro Neuro Adaptive Regulator.

Quite simply the SCENAR acts by sending a small electro signal through the skin to interact with the body’s’ own Electro Neuro feedback system.

This signal stimulates the body to identify areas which are “out of balance” due to trauma, injury or illness and to promote the natural healing process for recovery.

SCENAR is Russian space age technology

SCENAR was born out of the Russian space programme. Doctors and scientists working together realised they needed a way to overcome the unique problems of space travel. Astronauts were unable to “Stop off” at a Doctor’s surgery or a Pharmacy so doctors and scientists concentrated their efforts on Energy medicine coupled with the biofeedback system, which would allow the Astronauts to treat themselves. Today SCENAR is a mainstream medical modality in Russia and many other European countries where it is used extensively.

Is SCENAR registered in Australia?

SCENAR devices are listed on the ARTG with the TGA, following formal research trials by Macquarie University, Sydney, (Chronic Neck Pain/Dysfunction, study of the effects of ENAR, Macquarie University, 2004). All positive effects catalogued in the research trial were sustained for the entire follow up period of 6 months following the conclusion of treatment. These trials, together with on-going anecdotal evidence, confirmed reduction in disabilities, increase in pain relief for chronic conditions, restoration of function, and have contributed to positive changes to general health overall.

SCENAR is accepted and approved

In Russia and many other parts of Europe SCENAR is accepted as a mainstream medical modality.

The Health Ministry of Russia has authorized SCENAR for clinical use since 1986. The Russian results are supported by several years of use and feedback in Europe, USA and Australia.

In these and many other countries, health practitioners, therapists, and members of the public now use SCENAR devices to great effect in treating many painful and debilitating conditions to alleviate pain and restore function.

SCENAR is safe

A SCENAR impulse is similar to the body’s natural electro-neuro impulses.

It is therefore safe and will not damage any part of the body systems.

However people with cardiac pacemakers are not allowed to have SCENAR treatment.

How SCENAR works

SCENAR is placed onto the clients skin and sends out a series of electrical impulses that are identical to the bio-feedback system of the body. Through this communication the body responds to the signals it is receiving and is persuaded to stimulate the body’s own healing system to restore the balance or homeostasis.

SCENAR works by prompting the body to heal itself. In humans the internal physiology of our bodies must maintain conditions within specific limits and tolerances to continue healthy functioning. This is done by a process called negative feedback control, where various receptors and effectors bring about a reaction to ensure that these conditions remain favourable. When these conditions are in balance we are said to be maintaining homeostasis. When the body is unable to adjust to specific changes such as trauma or disease it may go out of balance. SCENAR seeks to help the body regain homeostasis by finding and treating areas where homeostasis is not present. These are called “asymmetries” and are the indicators of where treatment should be concentrated SCENAR can be used to treat problems anywhere on the body.

A SCENAR treatment

An initial SCENAR treatment begins by taking a clients history and assessment. SCENAR treatment will be performed according to the results of these. While the SCENAR is run over the body the client may feel a tingling or stroking sensation. The SCENAR therapist will observe changes (or asymmetries) and will treat these areas first to generate a change (or dynamic).

This change will signal to the bodies natural healing process to facilitate the recovery of homeostasis. SCENAR treatment is always determined by the bodies response and directive of asymmetries to speed recovery.

The initial treatment can take up to two hours (including assessment and history) and the type of complaint. Usually chronic conditions require longer.

Subsequent treatments may take between 30 minutes and up to one hour, depending on the client’s progress.

SCENAR is perfectly safe and children can be treated, as well as animals.

SCENAR relieves Pain

SCENAR does not TREAT any condition itself. SCENAR creates a change or dynamic which stimulates the body’s own natural healing processes.

Often there is a definite and immediate effect after a SCENAR treatment. Immediate pain relief can occur and this often lasts for several hours or even days.

This is of course much more desirable than taking medication which may have adverse and unwanted side-effects.

Frequency of SCENAR treatments

Usually treatment is more frequent at the beginning and as the client improves the frequency can be reduced. Acute conditions, i.e. those that are less than a few days old, tend to respond more quickly if treated frequently as soon as the condition occurs. eg sports injuries. Chronic conditions, i.e. those that have a longer term of effect may require a more gentle approach of less frequent treatments over a longer period of time. Also necessary to consider are the clients age, general health and overall physical condition.

Some Conditions SCENAR can treat

In Russia, many health practitioners currently use the device as their principal instruments of treatment. The device is used there on most types of disorder or injury; musculoskeletal and dental problems. It has also been found to be beneficial with endocrine, nutritional and metabolic disorders as well as stress, depression and mental disturbances. The SCENAR is further credited with vastly reducing recovery times. In accident and emergency wards its ability to aid in recovery is used to help those with burns, fractures, insect bites, allergic reactions, cardiac arrest, trauma, coma and many types of sports injuries.

Do I need to tell my doctor about SCENAR?

As with the commencement of any complimentary treatment it is preferable that your doctor be advised as it is the hope that some medications and prescription drugs may be reduced or eliminated as the result of SCENAR treatment, and this will need the approval and co-operation of your doctor.

Is there anything else I should know?

We request that you refrain from taking part in any activity that will cause exertion for about two hours before and after treatment. It is also advisable not to shower for the same period and to desist from using body creams, lotions, etc, to ensure good conductivity with the SCENAR device.
